There are steps to consider in the entire Pool Filter Operation, removing, cleaning and installing the Pool filter back to place. Thus, making it more efficient in cleaning the water stream.
Here are the following steps to follow in cleaning the filter:
- Remove the clamping O-ring. This is because some filter may have a tight seal that it would make it hard to take off. Yet, never drain the tank first for it may cause the lid to be even tighter. If the lid is too tight, turn on the pump for a few seconds so that he pressure will cause the lid to pop off instead of forcing it. This may even cause damage to the lid.
- When the lid is out, grab it quickly so as to avoid the lid to be sucked again. This is because the water comes back when the pump is closed.
- Never stand on the way where the water flows inescapably while you are holding the tank or motor. This is because water and electricity can cause electrocution.
- If the motor is placed directly next to the filter, the water flowing out might flood the motor. If this happens, get a screwdriver and crowbar to take out the lid. You can also try covering the motor with a plastic bag.
- If the drain hole is not clogged, patiently dig out the dirt and filter until you can take out the grid.
- In Rod removal, you must unscrew the retaining rod connected to the rotary valve and use pliers if it is corroded, wespecially if it is difficult to take off. If it is corroded do not force it or it will snap off at the bottom leaving the end in the rotary valve.
- In Manifold remova,l you must get in the tank and remove the manifold which is located inside the rim of the rotary valve.
To be discussed further are the steps to consider in replacing the filter:
- Shut down the pump and switch off the circuit beaker.
- Remove the lid.
- Open the tank drain and let the water run out.
- Remove the retainer’s wing nut and remove the holding wheel. This is to release the dirty components from the water.
- Install the new filter from the box. Before doing so, check if the grids, gauge and other parts are included. Follow the instructions written on the manual.
- Screw into place the right MIP fittings 11/2 or 2 inch or (40 or 50 mm.)
- Apply coating on the filter of Pipe dope or Teflon Tape.
- Plan the plumbing by putting the new filter and heater between the heater and waste line.
- Plumb the filter by following the instructions
- Start up the newly installed filter, restart again after cleaning.
